It should 100% be illegal for companies to make you give them your payment information when you sign up for a free trial version of their product. It is not necessary and there is no good fucking reason for them to do it. It’s blatantly just so they can steal forgetful customers’ money.

Ways to support Ukraine 🇺🇦

More than 500,000 people have already left Ukraine due to the invasion by the Russian Federation. The European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management estimates that roughly 18 million Ukrainians will be affected by the conflict in humanitarian terms, with 7 million internally displaced and 4 million seeking refuge elsewhere. To help those still in Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian refugees, we’ve compiled this list of resources.

HelpUkraineWin.org has a collection of vetted and trusted resources, charities, and organizations to help Ukraine.

Misinformation spreads fast on social media. It is more important than ever to share accurate, verifiable news and information. Here are some resources to learn how to identify misinformation:

  • This video from the nonprofit WITNESS shares tips for identifying authentic sources (available in English, Spanish, Ukranian, Russian, and Arabic).
  • These visual verification tips, also from WITNESS, provide information on verifying images and videos (available in English and Spanish).
  • This interview with NPR contains tips for identifying fake TikToks.

oh my god, i'm turkish and seeing foreigners reblogging this honestly brought me to tears.

since the post above, three more people have died and thousands of more homes have burned down, but thankfully some of the fires have been extinguished. but this doesn't mean the fight is over.

these photos were taken in the province of Antalya, one of our biggest tourism centers. for decades, people have been setting entire forests on fire in touristic places to make room for their huge, 5-star hotels and resorts. everyone knows this. the government knows this.

for anyone that doesn't know, our government is as corrupt as it gets (i'm not gonna go into details, or we'd be here all day and i'd probably get arrested). they're trying to cover up these news with the resignation of the minister of education. what's more, so far, the only fire-extinguishing planes we have were sent to us by Russia. not our own government.

they don't care for us.

our only hope is you. even a single Euro/Dollar you donate would make a difference.

please. we need you.

Yesterday, in the evening of 24.6.2021, a rural area in Moravia in my country, the Czech Republic, was hit by a category EF3 or EF4 tornado. 7 towns were demolished and so far we know about 3 dead and hundreds of injured. You can see the destruction the tornado has wraught bellow.

Tornadoes are quite uncommon in Europe and the strong ones are very rare. The last time we had a tornado this strong was in 2004. This time, the tornado was so strong it was the strongest one in the entire Europe since 2001.

Since the rarity of tornadoes here, we do not have any warning systems or prediction for them, so most people were caught unprepared and without any possibility of hiding. Most of us don’t even know what you’re supposed to do during such event.

Please, if you can, donate to help the affected, since they’re far from harms way - we’re in the middle of strong thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail. Our country has already be heavily hit by covid last year and the government has only decided to spend about 10.000.000CZK (cca 470.000USD) to help those affected by the tornado, which is a laughable sum.

So far noone has set up a way to donate for foreigners, but I’m looking into it.

Until then you can donate HERE

1USD IS ABOUT 20CZK

There is a sum of 300czk automatically set but you can edit how much you wanna donate. So far it’s possible to only use your credit/debit card, Google pay or transfer, but I’m looking into it.

IF YOU CAN, PLEASE HELP! IF YOU CAN’T, PLEASE SHARE!

The infographic above (courtesy of Yalla! Let's Talk) was posted only six days ago and now Palestine is trending once again following Israel's new airstrike against the people of Gaza in the middle of the night.

Besides being a violation of the "ceasefire", which Palestinians themselves said would not resolve the core issue, this new wave of bombings is once again a reminder that a free Palestinian state cannot be achieved through lukewarm, inconsistent coverage and activism.

Here is a few resources, feel free to add more:
